Judy Gold (born November 15, 1962) is an American stand-up comedian, actress, podcaster, television writer, author, and producer. She gained recognition for her work as a writer and producer on The Rosie O'Donnell Show, winning two Daytime Emmy Awards. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Gold discovered her talent for stand-up comedy while studying music at Rutgers University. She is openly lesbian and had a nearly 20-year relationship with Sharon Callahan. Gold is a proud mother of two children, Henry (1996) and Ben (2001), whom she often mentions in her performances. Known for her activism, she is actively involved in the LGBT and Jewish communities and has supported Democratic presidential campaigns. Gold's comedic influences include Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, and Totie Fields. She co-wrote the acclaimed one-woman show 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother with Kate Moira Ryan, based on a series of interviews with Jewish mothers.
