Julia Meltzer
Julia Meltzer (born 1968) is an American video artist and director. Born in Hollywood, California, Meltzer received her BA from Brown University and her MFA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is the founder and director of Clockshop, a non-profit arts organization in Los Angeles. Meltzer, along with her collaborator David Thorne, creates media-intensive projects including videos, photographs, and installations. From 1993-2003, their work focused on history, secrecy, and memory, while after 2003 they explored how people envision the future and its relation to faith and global politics. Their collaborative works have been featured in the 2008 Whitney Biennial.
