Yulia Volkova, also known as Julia, is a Russian singer. She was born on February 20, 1985. Volkova gained popularity as a member of the Russian girl group t.A.T.u., formed in Moscow in 1999. The group signed a record deal with Universal Music Russia and Interscope Records in 2001. Their debut single, 'All the Things She Said', achieved chart success in various countries and stirred controversy due to the onscreen kissing between Volkova and bandmate Lena Katina. t.A.T.u. released several studio albums in English and Russian, along with compilation albums. Volkova also pursued other projects, including a role in the 2011 film 'You and I'. She is also involved in T.A. Music, a record label based in Russia.
