    Julie Fitzpatrick Biography
    Julie Fitzpatrick is a Scottish scientist and academic who currently serves as the CEO of Moredun Research Institute. She is also Scotland's part-time Chief Scientific Advisor. Fitzpatrick completed her veterinary studies at the University of Glasgow and obtained her doctorate from the University of Bristol. Additionally, she holds a master's degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is a Professor and Chair in Food Security at the University of Glasgow's College of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences. In 2021, Fitzpatrick assumed the role of Scotland's Chief Scientific Advisor and joined the Scottish Science Advisory Council. She succeeded Sheila Rowan and continues her work as Chief Executive for the Moredun Research Institute.
