Julie Lake is an American actress, known for her role as inmate Angie Rice on the popular TV series Orange is the New Black. She has received recognition for her performance, winning two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Raised in Palo Alto, California, Lake attended Yale University where she studied theater. Prior to her breakthrough role, she acted in theatrical plays in New York City, including collaborations with playwright Nick Jones. Lake's talent caught the attention of Jones, who recommended her for an audition on Orange is the New Black, ultimately landing her the role of Angie Rice. In addition to her television work, Lake has also co-created web series such as George and Julie and Mental. She is married to Jeff Cah.
