Julio Ramos
Julio A. Ramos (4 February 1935 - 19 November 2006) was an Argentine journalist and businessman. He founded Ámbito Financiero, a newspaper specializing in finance and economy, in 1976. Ramos held a degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires and worked for various media outlets including Noticias Gráficas, La Nación, and La Opinión. He was an advocate for free market liberalism and ran for the Deputy Chamber of the Buenos Aires Province in 1985. Ramos also served as the director of the Inter American Press Association from 1986 to 1989. He was married twice and had five children. Ramos authored the nonfiction book Los cerrojos a la prensa (Locks on the Press, 1993).
