Julio Rey
José Julio Rey is a Spanish long-distance runner, born on January 13, 1972, in Toledo, Spain. He is known for his achievements in marathon running. Rey won the Hamburg Marathon four times between 2001 and 2006. However, his career was marred by a two-year ban from competition after testing positive for mesterolone at the 1999 Rotterdam Marathon. Rey has set impressive records in various distances, including 3000 meters in 7:54.40 minutes (1997), 5000 meters in 13:22.13 minutes (1998), 10,000 meters in 27:47.33 minutes (1998), half marathon in 1:02:10 hours (2002), and marathon in 2:06:52 hours (2006).
