Karl Sanders

Karl Sanders is an American vocalist and guitarist, born on June 5, 1963. He is best known as the founding member of the ancient Egyptian-themed technical death metal band Nile. Before forming Nile, Sanders played in a thrash metal band called Morriah during the late 1980s, sharing the stage with prominent death metal bands like Morbid Angel. In 2004, he started a solo side project, incorporating ambient/Egyptian folk elements rather than death metal. His first solo album, 'Saurian Meditation,' was released in October 2004, followed by 'Saurian Exorcisms' in April 2009. Sanders announced his third solo album, 'Saurian Apocalypse,' which is set to release on July 22, 2022.
