Kate Moran

Kate Moran is an ocean engineer and Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Victoria. She is also the president and CEO of Ocean Networks Canada. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Moran developed a strong interest in the ocean. She holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD in marine geotechnics and paleoclimatology from Dalhousie University. Moran has led numerous oceanographic expeditions, including a 2004 expedition to extract sediment core from the Arctic sea floor to study climate change in the region. With her expertise in ocean engineering, Moran has made significant contributions to the field of marine science.
