Kathadi Ramamurthy

Kathadi Ramamurthy, born Sundaresan Ramamurthy on February 2, 1938, is a renowned Indian actor, director, writer, and dubbing artiste. He gained popularity for his comedic roles in Tamil films, theatre, and television. Hailing from Kumbakonam, Ramamurthy completed his education at Madras and graduated from Vivekananda College in 1958. From an early age, he developed a passion for drama, and his plays received immense acclaim, earning him numerous awards. It was his portrayal of a cartoonist named Kathadi in the play 'If I Get It' by Cho Ramaswamy that established his permanent stage name as Kathadi Ramamurthy. With an illustrious career spanning decades, he has contributed significantly to the entertainment industry.
