Katie Baker Biography
Katie Baker (born April 21, 1984) is a Canadian field hockey player. She is best known as the captain of the Canadian Women's National Field Hockey Team and has represented her country in over 80 international matches. Born in Prince Edward Island, Baker discovered her passion for field hockey at the age of 14 when her family moved to Hamilton, Ontario. She joined the senior national team in 2006, after previously playing for the junior national team from 2004 to 2005. Throughout her career, Baker has received numerous accolades, including being named to the Pan American Elite team in 2009 and winning the PEI Female Athlete of the Year award in the same year. Currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia, she continues to train and compete at the highest level.
