Ken Collins Biography
Sir Kenneth Darlingston Collins, born 12 August 1939, is a Scottish former politician and environmentalist. He served as a Member of the European Parliament and Chairman of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Collins was born in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland and educated at Hamilton Academy, University of Glasgow, and University of Strathclyde, where he earned Bsc (Hons) and Msc degrees. He began his career as a local authority planning officer and lecturer before being elected to various councils. From 1979 to 1984, Collins served as Deputy Leader of the U.K. Labour Group at the European Parliament. He has made significant contributions in the field of environmental protection and continues to be a respected figure in the industry.
