Ken Ryan Biography
Ken Ryan, born Kenneth Frederick Ryan Jr. on October 24, 1968, is an American former baseball pitcher. He played eight seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. Ryan began his professional baseball career after being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 1986. He made his MLB debut on August 31, 1992, and spent the next three years playing for the Red Sox. In 1996, he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, where he played until his release in 1999. Ryan later signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates but was released at the end of the season. He retired from professional baseball after the 1999-2000 off-season.
