Kendall Cross is an American freestyle wrestler, wrestling coach, and Olympic gold medalist. Born on February 24, 1968, in the United States, Cross achieved fame through his remarkable wrestling career. He won the gold medal in the 57 kilogram weight class at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, defeating Guivi Sissaouri of Canada in the final match. Cross also competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics, where he placed sixth and defeated the Olympic champion Alejandro Puerto of Cuba. He wrestled for Mustang High School in Oklahoma, winning a state title, and went on to wrestle for Oklahoma State University, becoming a three-time All-American and winning the NCAA Championship in 1989. Cross is also a distinguished member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, inducted in 2002, and a three-time US National Champion.
