Kenji Nakamura Biography
Kenji Nakamura (中村 健治 Nakamura Kenji; born March 25, 1970) is a Japanese anime director. He gained recognition for his work on several critically acclaimed anime series, including Mononoke, [C]: Control, Tsuritama, and Gatchaman Crowds. Nakamura started his career as an animator at Toei Animation but had to quit due to tendinitis. He then transitioned into directing and worked his way up the production process. Currently, he is a freelance director. In March 2021, Twin Engine announced a collaboration with Nakamura on a new original anime, codenamed Yotogi. Throughout his career, Nakamura has also contributed to other anime projects such as Kindaichi Case Files, Shinzo, Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales, and Kemonozume.
