    Kenji Takagi Biography
    Kenji Takagi (1888–1963) was a Japanese orthopedic surgeon known for his pioneering work in arthroscopy of the knee. He conducted one of the first successful knee arthroscopy procedures on a cadaver at Tokyo University in 1918, influenced by Danish surgeon Severin Nordentoft. Takagi furthered his knowledge by studying x-ray technology in Germany in 1922. His contributions to the field of orthopedic surgery laid the foundation for future advancements. After his death, his pupil Masaki Watanabe continued his work. Kenji Takagi remains a respected figure in the field of orthopedics for his groundbreaking research and surgical techniques.
