Kennedy Yanko (born October 21, 1988) is an American sculptor, painter, and installation artist known for her work with 'paint skins' and found metal. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Yanko sources discarded objects and materials from salvage yards, transforming them into her unique vision. Her abstract artwork draws inspiration from surrealism, abstract expressionism, and physical austerities, reflecting her background in performance art. Yanko's 'paint skins' are created by pouring large amounts of paint onto a tarp-like material, which she sculpts using her whole body. In 2019, she installed her first public sculpture, '3 WAYS,' as part of the Poydras Corridor Sculpture Exhibition in New Orleans, funded by the Helis Foundation.
