Kenneth Hudson

Kenneth Hudson (4 July 1916 – 28 December 1999) was a journalist, museologist, broadcaster, and book author. Born in Harlesden, he was educated at the Lower School of John Lyon (now The John Lyon School) in Harrow and at University College London. During World War II, he registered as a conscientious objector and served in the Friends' Ambulance Unit. After the war, he worked in Germany in the Entnazifizierung campaign. He joined the University of Bristol as a lecturer in adult education in 1947 and later moved to the BBC in Bristol as a radio talks producer and industrial correspondent. In 1966, he set up an educational television service at Bristol College of Science and Technology, now the University of Bath. Hudson was a prominent figure in the European museum scene, known for his controversial views. He authored several books, including one of the first books on industrial archaeology published in 1963.
