Lady Sovereign

Louise Amanda Harman, better known by her stage name Lady Sovereign, is a British rapper. Born in 1985, Lady Sovereign grew up in Chalkhill Estate in Wembley Park, London. She gained inspiration from listening to Ms. Dynamite's track 'Boooo!' in 2001, which opened doors for female MCs like herself. Lady Sovereign started uploading her songs and picture to music websites at the age of 15, facing initial criticism due to her race, gender, and nationality. However, she persevered and signed with Universal in 2004. Lady Sovereign released several solo records and performed with artists such as Basement Jaxx, the Streets, Dizzee Rascal, D12, and Obie Trice.
