    Lance David Carter (born December 18, 1974) is a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher and current minor league pitching coach. He played for the Kansas City Royals, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Carter was selected by the Royals in the 1994 MLB draft and made his major league debut in 1999. After a career year in 2003, he was elected to the All-Star Game as a reserve. Carter had a 4.33 ERA in the 2003 season. In 2004, he had a 3.47 ERA in 56 games. He batted and threw right-handed throughout his career.
