Laura Mitchell

Laura Mitchell is a former Superintendent for Cincinnati Public Schools. With a 27-year career at CPS, she held various positions including teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer. Mitchell was voted in by the Cincinnati Board of Education in 2017 as the successor to Mary Ronan. She focused on improving the academic achievement of under-performing schools, leading the district to an 'Effective' rating. Mitchell resigned in June 2021 to pursue a new calling. Her dedication and efforts have been nationally recognized, earning her the State of Ohio Senate Commendation for her contributions to education.
