Laura Ann Wilkinson (born November 17, 1977) is an American diver, three-time Olympian, and Olympic gold medalist. She is known for being the first woman to win the three major diving world titles. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Wilkinson attended Klein High School before going to the University of Texas. As a child, she was a gymnast but had to switch to diving due to a growth spurt during puberty. Despite facing criticism and being kicked off her high school team, Wilkinson persevered and became a successful diver. After retiring in 2008, she made a comeback in 2017, placing second at Nationals. Although she didn't qualify for the fourth Olympic Games in 2021, Wilkinson's achievements and determination make her an influential figure in the world of diving.
