Laveranues Leon Coles is an American former professional football player known for his career as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Born on December 29, 1977, in Jacksonville, Florida, Coles played college football for the Florida State Seminoles before being drafted by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He spent 11 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Jets, and also played for the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals. Coles was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2003. Throughout his high school career at Ribault High School, he excelled in football, basketball, and track.
