Leigh Chapman (March 29, 1939 – November 4, 2014) was an American actress and screenwriter. She began her career in the 1960s, appearing in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. as Sarah Johnson, a recurring role. Transitioning to screenwriting, Chapman focused on action-adventure films, a genre uncommon for women scriptwriters at the time. She was recognized as a pioneering female screenwriter in the action-adventure genre. Some of her notable screenwriting credits include Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974) and The Octagon (1980). Born as Rosa Lee Chapman in Kannapolis, North Carolina, she graduated from Winthrop College before moving to Los Angeles in the early 1960s with her husband.
