Leo Burmester
Leo Burmester (February 1, 1945 – June 28, 2007) was an American actor known for his work in film, television, and theater. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Burmester studied biology at Western Kentucky University before switching to drama. He began his career in theater, appearing with the Actors Theatre of Louisville where he originated roles in the plays Getting Out and Lone Star. These roles led to his Off-Broadway and Broadway debuts. Burmester also had a successful career in film, working with directors such as John Sayles, John Schlesinger, Sidney Lumet, and Martin Scorsese. Some of his notable film credits include Passion Fish (1992), Lone Star (1996), and The Last Temptation of Christ (1988). On television, he starred as Randy Stumphill in the CBS sitcom Flo. Burmester passed away in 2007, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances.
