Harrop's first TV acting role was in an episode of the BBC drama, The Street, in 2009, where he starred alongside Maxine Peake and Stephan Graham. His portrayal caught the attention of the series' creator, Jimmy McGovern, who praised Harrop as a 'natural talent.'
