Leslie Neale
Leslie Neale (26 June 1886 – 26 August 1959) was a Methodist minister, chaplain to New Zealand troops, and Christchurch City Council Councillor. Born and educated in New Zealand, Neale attended Pukekawa College and the University of Canterbury. He offered for the ministry in 1908 and was ordained in 1915. Neale served as a chaplain with the armed forces during World War I and saw action at Ypres and Passchendaele. After the war, he worked as a minister in Dunedin and Christchurch, focusing on serving the poor. Neale was also involved in community initiatives, including the establishment of the Radio Church.
