Leticia Van de Putte

Leticia Rosa Magdalena Aguilar Van de Putte is an American politician from San Antonio, Texas. She represented the 26th District in the Texas Senate from 1999–2015 and was a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1991 to 1999. Van de Putte was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor in 2014 but lost to her Republican colleague, Dan Patrick. She later ran for mayor of San Antonio but narrowly lost. Born Leticia San Miguel in Tacoma, Washington, she was raised in San Antonio. Van de Putte is married to Pete Van de Putte and has six children and six grandchildren.
