Lidiya Fedoseyeva-Shukshina Biography
Lidiya Nikolayevna Fedoseyeva-Shukshina (born September 25, 1938) is a Russian actress. She was born in Leningrad and attended school No. 217 before studying at the drama club of the House of Cinema under Matvey Dubrovin. In 1964, she graduated from VGIK under the tutelage of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova. Fedoseyeva-Shukshina began her acting career in 1955 with an uncredited role in the film Maksim Perepelitsa. She gained prominence with her first major role in the film Peers (1959). While working on the set of What is it, the sea? in 1964, she met and married her husband, Vasily Shukshin, a writer, actor, and director.
