Lindsey Garrett
Lindsey Garrett is a British social housing campaigner, National Health Service care co-ordinator, and political activist. She gained recognition for her role as the Chair of the New Era Tenants Association, where she successfully prevented Westbrook Partners from evicting 93 families and doubling the rent for those remaining. Alongside political activist and comedian Russell Brand, Garrett campaigned against the eviction, gathering nearly 300,000 signatures on a petition that she presented to 10 Downing Street. Despite being a traditional Labour voter, Garrett expressed disappointment in the party's actions, which motivated her to become the Something New candidate for Mayor of London in the 2016 London mayoral election.
