Liz Ross

Liz Ross is a socialist activist and author based in Melbourne, Australia. With a career spanning several decades, she has been a strong advocate for Women's Rights and Gay Liberation since 1972. Liz served as a union delegate in the Department of Social Security for ten years during the Hawke era. She has contributed detailed accounts of industrial struggle in Australia, particularly within the Builders Labourers Federation and the Royal Australian Nurses' Federation. Liz is a member of the Trotskyist organisation Socialist Alternative, as well as its electoral alliance party Victorian Socialists. She is also a founding and life member of the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives. In 2013, Liz wrote the book 'Revolution is for us: The Left and Gay Liberation in Australia,' which explores the intersection of Marxism and sexual oppression.
