Lloyd Cole
Lloyd Cole (born January 31, 1961) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He gained popularity as the lead vocalist of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions from 1984 to 1989. Cole was born in Buxton, Derbyshire, England, and grew up in nearby Chapel-en-le-Frith. He attended New Mills Comprehensive School and later studied philosophy and English at the University of Glasgow, where he met the future members of the Commotions. The band's debut album, Rattlesnakes (1984), featured references to literary and pop culture figures. They released two more albums, Easy Pieces (1985) and Mainstream (1987), before disbanding. Cole has since pursued a successful solo career.
