Lo-Fang

Matthew Jordan Hemerlein, better known by his stage name Lo-Fang, is a singer-songwriter and classically trained musician. Born on October 20, 1983, Hemerlein chose his stage name while driving through Sedona, Arizona, on his way to Los Angeles. He wanted to balance the feminine and masculine elements in his music, with 'Lo' representing the soft and soothing aspects and 'Fang' representing the harsh electronic sounds. He began playing the violin at the age of 5 and is proficient in instruments such as piano, cello, guitar, violin, and string bass. Hemerlein released his debut album, Blue Film, on February 25, 2014, under the label 4AD.
