Lou Adler

Lester Louis Adler, born on December 13, 1933, is an American record and film producer, as well as the co-owner of the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California. Throughout his career, Adler has produced and developed numerous legendary musical artists such as The Grass Roots, Jan & Dean, The Mamas & the Papas, and Carole King. Carole King's album, Tapestry, which Adler produced, won the 1972 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and is widely regarded as one of the greatest pop albums of all time. Adler also served as an executive producer for The Rocky Horror Picture Show and discovered and produced comedy albums and films for Cheech & Chong. In recognition of his contributions to music, Adler received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006 and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, alongside Quincy Jones, as the winner of the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
