Lou Rawls Biography
Louis Allen Rawls (December 1, 1933 – January 6, 2006) was an American singer, record producer, composer, and actor. Rawls released over 60 albums, sold more than 40 million records, and had numerous charting singles, including the hit song 'You'll Never Find Another Love like Mine'. He was also a three-time Grammy winner for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. Rawls began his singing career in church and later sang with local groups, where he met Sam Cooke and Curtis Mayfield. Alongside his successful music career, Rawls worked as a film, television, and voice actor. Born in Chicago, he grew up in the Ida B. Wells projects on the city's South Side.
