Louis Cato
Louis Cato (born May 3, 1985) is a talented multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and bandleader. He is best known as the bandleader of The Late Show Band, the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Cato is proficient in various instruments, including bass, guitar, percussion, and low brass, and he also showcases his vocal abilities. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, to African American parents, Cato's family moved to Albemarle, North Carolina, shortly after his birth. With a passion for music from a young age, Cato began playing drums at the age of two. He attended Berklee College of Music before leaving to pursue his career. Cato's exceptional talent led him to meet Marcus Miller, with whom he toured extensively. Since 2015, Cato has been an integral part of Stay Human, joining as the band formed for The Late Show and later assuming the role of interim bandleader.
