Lubna Azabal Biography
Lubna Azabal, born on August 15, 1973, is a Belgian actress of Moroccan and Spanish descent. She began her theatrical career in Belgium after studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. In 1997, she made her film debut in Vincent Lannoo's short film, J'adore le cinéma. Azabal is fluent in English, French, and Arabic, having been raised trilingual. She gained widespread recognition for her role in the 2005 political thriller Paradise Now and appeared in Ridley Scott's Body of Lies. Notably, she starred alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal in the 2014 BBC TV miniseries The Honourable Woman. Azabal received several accolades, including the Black Pearl Award for Best Actress at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Film Festival and the Genie Award for Best Actress at the 31st Genie Awards.
