Luigi Moretti
Luigi Walter Moretti (2 January 1907 – 14 July 1973) was an Italian architect known for his innovative designs and contributions to parametric architecture. Born in Rome, Moretti grew up in an apartment on Esquiline Hill and was the son of engineer and architect Luigi Rolland. He attended Collegio San Giuseppe - Istituto De Merode for primary and secondary school before studying at the Royal School of Architecture in Rome. Moretti designed notable buildings such as the Watergate Complex in Washington DC, The Academy of Fencing, and Il Girasole ('The Sunflower') house. He was also the founder of the Institute for Operations Research and Applied Mathematics Urbanism where he conducted research on the history of architecture and applied algorithmic methods to architectural design.
