Marcus Turner Biography
Marcus William Turner (16 February 1956 – 2 February 2016) was a New Zealand singer-songwriter, folk musician, and television presenter. He gained recognition for his performances at folk festivals in New Zealand, Australia, and overseas. Turner was known for his work on several TVNZ children's television programs, including Spot On, How's That, and Play School, where he also served as a director. Born in Roxburgh, Turner grew up in Karitane and later attended East Otago High School and the University of Otago, majoring in zoology. He joined TVNZ and contributed to the field of children's television presenting until his passing in February 2016.
