Margaret Hoard Biography
Margaret Hoard (ca. 1880–1944) was an American sculptor and painter born in Washington, Iowa. She studied at the Art Students League in New York City under Fraser and Aitken, and also received training in painting from Arthur Wesley Dow. In 1913, Hoard participated in the renowned Armory Show, displaying her sculpture 'Study of an old lady' for $75. Her marble carving 'Eve' is now part of the collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hoard was a member of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, making significant contributions to the field of art during her career.
