Maria Lawson

Maria Lawson (born 24 May 1979) is an English singer and actress. She gained recognition as the fifth contestant eliminated on the second UK series of the television talent show, The X Factor, in 2005. Starting her career as a recording artist, Lawson collaborated with Ti.Pi.Cal on several singles. Her debut self-titled album was released in 2006, followed by her second studio album, Emotional Rollercoaster, in 2014. Lawson also ventured into the world of theater, starring in the female lead role in the West End production of Thriller – Live from April 2009 to March 2010. She is the author of a self-help/autobiography titled Life Starts Now, released in 2008. Lawson currently resides in London with her husband and two children.
