Marianne Deborah Williamson (born July 8, 1952) is an American author, speaker, humanitarian, and presidential candidate. She gained recognition as the spiritual leader of the Church of Today, a Unity Church in Warren, Michigan, and is known for her self-help books, including the New York Times Best Seller A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles (1992). Williamson became prominent through her frequent appearances on Oprah Winfrey's talk show, where she was referred to as her 'spiritual advisor'. In 2014, she ran as an independent candidate for California's 33rd congressional district. In 2020, Williamson ran for the Democratic nomination for president, later endorsing Bernie Sanders. She is currently running in the 2024 Democratic Party presidential primaries.
