Marisha Wallace Biography
Marisha Wallace is an American actress known for her work in musical theatre. She gained recognition for her roles in various Broadway productions, including Aladdin (2014) and Something Rotten! (2015), where she performed as part of the ensemble and understudy. In 2017, she became an alternate Effie White in the West End production of Dreamgirls and eventually took over the role after Amber Riley's departure. Wallace has released a Christmas album titled Soul Holiday in 2017 and joined the original London cast of Waitress as Becky in 2019. Notably, she starred as Motormouth Maybelle in the London Coliseum production of Hairspray in 2021, earning a nomination for Best Female Actor in a Musical at the 2021 Black British Theatre Awards. In 2022, she received an Olivier Award nomination for her portrayal of Ado Annie in Oklahoma! at the Young Vic.
