Mark Thornton
Mark Thornton (born June 7, 1960) is an American economist known for his work in the Austrian School of economics. He has written extensively on various topics including the prohibition of drugs, the economics of the American Civil War, and the 'Skyscraper Index'. Thornton is currently a Senior Fellow with the Ludwig von Mises Institute in Alabama and a Research Fellow with the Independent Institute. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1982, and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Auburn University in 1989. Thornton has taught economics at Auburn University and Columbus State University, and is now the book review editor for the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics.
