Mark Zimmerman
John Mark Zimmerman, born in 1956, is an American Anglican bishop. He is known for being the first diocesan bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Southwest, overseeing west Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico in the Anglican Church in North America. Zimmerman's father was an Episcopal priest and he grew up in a religious environment. After college, he taught English in Oman before feeling called to ministry. He attended Trinity School for Ministry and graduated with an M.Div. in 1986. Zimmerman served as a priest in New Mexico for nine years before becoming the rector of St. Francis-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Somerset, Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2008. Under his leadership, the church experienced growth in congregation size and achieved a debt-free status.
