Marni Nixon (February 22, 1930 – July 24, 2016) was an American soprano and ghost singer known for her work as a vocal double for leading actresses in musical films. She provided the singing voice for Deborah Kerr in The King and I, Natalie Wood in West Side Story, and Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. Nixon's singing can be heard on several songs that made AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs list. In addition to her voice work, she had her own roles in film, television, opera, and Broadway musicals. Born in Altadena, California, Nixon began singing from a young age and also played the violin.
