Martha Rose Reeves (born July 18, 1941) is an American R&B and pop singer. She is best known as the lead singer of the Motown girl group Martha and the Vandellas, which produced several hit singles including "Come and Get These Memories", "Nowhere to Run", "Heat Wave", "Jimmy Mack", and "Dancing in the Street". Reeves also had a successful solo career. In addition to her music career, Reeves served as an elected councilwoman in Detroit, Michigan from 2005 to 2009. Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Rolling Stone ranked Reeves at number 151 on its list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.
