Martin Buchan
Martin McLean Buchan (born 6 March 1949) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a centre back. He started his career with Aberdeen, where he captained the team to victory in the 1970 Scottish Cup Final. In 1972, he was signed by Manchester United for a then-record fee of £120,000. Buchan became club captain in 1975 and helped the team win the Second Division title in 1974-75. He played a total of 456 games for Manchester United before leaving the club in 1983. Buchan also represented Scotland in 34 international matches, including two World Cup appearances. After retiring as a player, he went on to manage Burnley.
