    Martin Trenaman (born 1962) is an English comedy writer and actor known for his contributions to modern comedy series. He played Alan Cooper, Simon's father, in the sitcom The Inbetweeners (2008-10) and reprised the role in the subsequent films. Trenaman won So You Think You're Funny? in 1994 and has written additional material for shows like Head on Comedy, Lenny Henry in Pieces, and Haywire, as well as for comedians including Harry Enfield, Johnny Vaughan, and Phil Kay. He has also written for Is It Bill Bailey? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Trenaman has appeared in live shows with Bill Bailey and other comedians, showcasing his talent and versatility.
