Marvin Kaplan Biography
Marvin Wilbur Kaplan (January 24, 1927 – August 25, 2016) was an American actor, playwright, and screenwriter. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Dr. I. E. Kaplan and his wife. Kaplan attended Public School 16, Junior High School 50, and Eastern District High School before earning his bachelor's degree in English from Brooklyn College in 1947. He also took theater classes at the University of Southern California. Kaplan is best known for his recurring role as Henry Beesmeyer, a phone lineman, on the sitcom Alice from 1978 to 1985. He also lent his voice to the character Choo-Choo on the cartoon series Top Cat (1961–62) and appeared on episodes of McHale's Navy and The Love Boat.
